Marc Jacobs Bang!

Free and electrifying, sexy and alluring, Bang is a peppery woody spicy scent. An explosion of threesome of peppercorn wrapped in warm, sensual woods. The iconic bottle reflects the power and sensuality of the fragrance, with a smoky black heavyweight faceted glass bottle, contrasted with high shine silver metallic plaques shielding front and back - making it both powerful and masculine. The classic shape is transformed into something completely original by an impact marked at the core with the debossed logo, leaving an embossed reversed imprint on the back plaque. 


Bang, developed by perfumer Yann Vasnier, includes notes of white, pink and black peppercorns, “primal masculine” woods, elemi, benzoin, vetiver, white moss and patchouli.

Bang opens with a  blast of pepper mixed with some woody aroma (vetiver).  It stays for half an hour then comes the cedar and redwood mixed with raisins, it finally settles down with the notes of musk, patchouli & very faint vetiver.

Bang didn't received the appreciation it deserved but I'm pretty happy with it and I love every bit of it.

A fragrance with irresistible personality


Highly inspired by the brand and by the vision Olivier Cresp has given birth to a fragrance with an assertive personality.
He dreamt up a naturally sophisticated essence, tinged with refinement and modernity, an innovative fragrance with a mastered olfactory identity.
He wanted the first feeling to burst forth, to be fresh but also unexpected.
It results in woody, floral and fresh fragrance.

The Notes Pyramid:

I've recently tested it and I must say that Mercedes Benz has done a brilliant job. It is an amazing fragrance, very fresh and very clean. Available in 75 ml & 120 ml packing. This is available in the price range of $55 - $90.

Longevity is excellent, lasts on my skin for 6-8 hours. Silage is moderate but that's not a problem for me.

Ben Sherman by Ben Sherman

My Rating: 9/10

If you could overlook the tacky bottle design then this is masterpiece. This beautiful fragrance was released in 2011 from the house of Ben Sherman, the UK based designer. Don't let the tacky and cheap looking plastic fool you, this is a very good stuff indeed.

The notes consists of tangerine, bergamot, lemon, lime, mint, cardamom, nutmeg, incense, patchouli, cedar, vanilla musk, vetiver, hay, coffee and amber.

It opens with a combination of malted coffee & cardamom with a hint of smokiness. The smokiness lingers through out the scents development. After an hour or so vetiver comes into the front and stays there till the end, giving this scent a very good feel. Overall this scent has got some rich creamy flavor which I really really enjoy!!

It has got a decent longevity, around 4-5 hours on my skin. Sillage is average but you may get noticed for the first 2-3 hours, after that it stays close.

The fragrance is available in 50ml & 100 ml packing. 

Paul Smith Man

My Rating: 9/10

This perfume was launched in 2007 from the house of Paul Smith. This is probably the best male fragrance from Paul Smith after the iconic London.  This fragrance was probably never projected/marketed as it should have been and as a result this is now discontinued.

The head notes consists of; Yuzu, Anise & Bergamot.Though, I clearly detect Iris in the opening but it was not listed under the ingredients list.
Heart notes are of: Incense, Patchouli & Spicy accord. 
Base note consists of: Violet & Tonka bean.

This is a love it or hate it kind of fragrance and you must give it a try before buying it. This also happens to be one of my all time favorites.

Narciso Rodriguez for Him

Narciso Rodriguez for Him is a great fragrance and this is no doubt one of my all time favorites. This fragrance was launched in 2007 from the house of Narciso Rodriguez, developed by Francis Kurkdjian. 

NR for him is not a complex fragrance and is entirely different than the other designer mainstream fragrances. Patchouli, Violet Leaf, Musk & Amber are the main ingredients.
It opens with a sharp hint of Violet leaves and Patchouli, carries a very dense and wet feel with it. The dry down is very warm and comforting, consisting of very well balanced Musk & Amber. 

Longevity on my skin is good, it stays for 6-8 hours. Sillage is moderate and projects very well for the first 1-2 hours and after that it remains close to skin. 

NR for him is available in 100ml & 50 ml sizes.
